Unique, hand-dyed, silk scarves & accessories
for a distinctive fashion statement!

Driven by color and texture, I enjoy hand-dyeing silk to create wearable accessories using a variety of new and time-honored techniques.

My favorite technique is Japanese shibori, an ancient, bound resist dyeing method which involves folding, stitching, tying, clamping, and/or binding   fabric and the use of multiple dye/discharge baths.

My signature scarves feature yanagi, makiage and kirameki shibori. These classic patterns originated in Imperial Japan. While the artisans of the Imperial Court ironed their fabric in preparation for making their exquisite kimonos, I have chosen to preserve the texture resulting from the shibori process for a distinctive contemporary look.

I offer my work for sale at various galleries and shows in the Pacific Northwest and, by appointment, at my Seattle studio.
